Who We Are

FigTree Development is a small, purpose-driven team based in Polk County, Florida. We work with scaling startups, small business owners and faith-forward creators who want technology and marketing that holds up over time.

Jason Drane — Founder & Principal DevOps Architect

Jason is a Principal Site Reliability Engineer with about 15 years of experience in enterprise cloud, DevOps and Kubernetes across AWS and GCP, including cloud environments with budgets above $23M. He started FigTree to bring that enterprise discipline to businesses that need a senior engineer's judgment without a six-figure hire. He runs the infrastructure behind FigTree himself: Kubernetes, GitOps, observability and automation, the same stack we build for clients.

Stephen McDermott — Partner & Principal Software Architect

Stephen has spent 25 years building software: .NET and Java service layers, API and integration platforms, and ETL and reporting systems, across healthcare, media, financial services and SaaS. He has led engineering teams of up to 20 engineers. At FigTree he leads software architecture and systems integration, which means designing the APIs, data pipelines and services that connect your applications. His toolkit covers .NET Core, C#, Java/Spring, Python, SQL Server, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes and DevSecOps.
